Officials with the University of Georgia, Athens campus, and Prolinia, and Athens, Georgia based bio-tech firm announced the successful cloning of a calf from the cells of a dead cow. This marked the first time a calf has been cloned from a slaughtered cow and put the University of Georgia in the forefront in the so-called "cloning race."
