After boarding a burn victim the pilot of a Bell 206L helicopter began an ascent from the hospital parking lot. During the transition from lift-off to forward movement, the helicopter's main rotor blade struck an unmarked light pole. The pilot and one attendant were killed; a second attendant was seriously injured. According to hospital personnel the patient suffered no additional injury from the accident.
